My little guy passed at 1400 today.

Glossary

RN - Registered Nurse
RT - Respiratory Therapist
ETT - Endotracheal tube (intubated with this)
Intubate - ETT through mouth into trachea (to ventilate)
Extubate - Take out ETT
Central Line - Typically a big IV placed by Drs in neck
Arterial Line - IV type line placed into the radial artery
CHF - Congestive Heart Failure (My dog has this) (ironically)
COPD - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Resident - Graduated from medical school, getting hands on time in a teaching hospital, can be R1, R2, R3 (years)
GI - Gastrointestinal (stomach and intestines) (ass too!)
CT - Computed Tomography - where patients like to lose IVs
DT - Delerium Tremens - Alcohol withdrawal - shakes and shits
MI - Myocardial infarction - heart attack - heart needs more blood!
